How did you hear about Whitney Browning Boudoir? : TikTok!
Why did you choose Whitney Browning Boudoir for your session? : I love the style and aesthetics of her photos. They look timeless, dark, moody, sexy.
What were your fears coming into the session? : I have had very bad anxiety for the last year or so and have gained some weight after losing about 40 pounds. I’ve been very self conscious and unhappy about it for a while and was afraid I’d hate every single picture that was taken.
Did those fears come true? : Absolutely not. I ended up upgrading my package during my reveal because I loved so many of my images!! They turned out better than I had ever hoped for.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why? : My favorite part was maybe having my makeup done? I’ve never had my makeup done by anyone else before. It was nice to sit back, relax, and let someone else take the reigns and see what they could do. It was truly amazing!
How did you feel DURING your session? : I was extremely nervous at first. I tried on my first outside and looked in the mirror and ALMOST cried because I was scared to step outside that door. But I took a deep breath and just did it without thinking another moment. I knew if I sat there too long and contemplated, I’d psyche myself out and it would be worse. I felt... inspired, brazen, sexy. Often we can look at anyone else and see their beauty, but can find it hard to see in ourselves. Whitney was AMAZING and was constantly hyping me up and reminding me how bad ass I was. I had moments of self doubt, but tried to push those out of my head and enjoy the moment.
How did you feel seeing your images for the first time?: I was on the verge of tears. I felt like I could see myself how my husband sees me. I felt sexy, pretty, powerful. Bad ass!!
Do you feel like you have a better relationship with your body since your session?: Absolutely! I look at a pic and remind myself not to be too hard on myself.
What will you do in the future to show yourself some self-love? : Remind myself I’m valid. Remind myself I can wear whatever the hell I want. Stop wearing pants in the summer!! It’s too damn hot lol.
Would you ever do another session?: A million percent yes!!! I’d do another alone. And a couple session with my husband!!
Do you have any advice for women interested in booking a boudoir session?: Do it! JUST DO IT. I feel like that’s everyone’s advice but it’s true. There will ALWAYS be an excuse not to. But I’m 50 years, you will regret it if you don’t.
Anything else you'd like to share?: To sum it all up, I had an amazing experience. From the ease of booking and any questions, to hair and makeup, and the session/reveal. It was an all around A+ experience. Worth the drive. Worth the wait. Worth the hype. Whitney (and of course her team) have a gift for making people feel like the best version of themselves and they capture that in an image. It’s kind of hard to put in to words, but once you feel it, and see it... you just know. Not to mention all the beautiful, BAD ASS woman who follow her and are apart of her social media group. They empower each other and are so uplifting and encouraging. It’s a beautiful thing to see women building each other up instead of tearing each other down. ❤️
